Problemstellung
Problem statment
Nach dem Atomunfall 2010 in Fukushima war es durch die radioaktive Strahlung für hunderte Menschen nicht mehr möglich ihr Zuhause zu bewohnen. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit war es notwenig neue Unterkunftsmöglichkeiten für Betroffene bereitzustellen. Großflächige Gebäude wie Turnhallen oder Gemeindezentren wurden provisorisch mit Feldbetten ausgestattet und dienten so über mehrere Wochen bis Monate als Schlafplatz und Unterbringung. Alternativ werden Container-Camps angelegt um eine höhere Anzahl an Menschen unterzubringen oder im Falle einer völligen Zerstörung von Gebäuden durch andere Naturkatastrophen, dennoch Unterkünfte zu stellen. Allerdings leben die Bewohner der neuen „Unterkünfte“ oftmals unter verhältnismäßig primitiven Bedingungen. Private Rückzugsorte werden meistens nicht gegeben und soziokulturelle Faktoren nicht berücksichtigt.
After the nuclear accident in Fukushima in 2010, radioactive radiation made it impossible for hundreds of people to live in their homes. Within a very short time, it was necessary to provide new accommodation for those affected. Large-scale buildings such as gymnasiums or community centers were provisionally equipped with camp beds and thus served as sleeping places and accommodation for several weeks to months. Was?
Notunterkünfte in Turnhallen, Gemeindezentren oder anderen großflächigen Gebäuden, welche nach einer Katastrophe, schnell, günstig und dennoch mit Rücksicht auf ein soziales Miteinander gebaut und bewohnt werden können. Die Unterkünfte sollen von kurz nach der Katastrophe bis zu maximal einem Jahr, temporär bewohnt werden. Danach sollen die Bewohner in dauerhafte Neubauten umsiedeln.
Emergency accommodation in gyms, community centres or other large buildings, which can be built and inhabited quickly, cheaply and yet with consideration for social coexistence after a disaster. The accommodations are to be inhabited temporarily from shortly after the disaster up to a maximum of one year. After that, the residents are to move into permanent new buildings.
Warum?
Um nach einer Katastrophe wie beispielsweise Tsunamis, Erdbeben oder Nuklearunfälle den Menschen deren Zuhause nicht mehr bewohnbar ist eine neue Unterkunft zu bieten, welche trotz der Notsituation auf das Wohlbefinden der Betroffenen Rücksicht nimmt.

Wie?
Anstelle den Menschen lediglich Feldbetten bereitzustellen sollen durch Textilplanen, einzelne Wohnzellen geschaffen werden. Dadurch soll den Bewohnern eine Raum für Privatsphäre geboten, aber gleichzeitig auch ein kulturelles Miteinander gefördert werden. Den Bewohnern sollen neben Schlafmöglichkeiten auch Stauräume und Sitzmöglichkeiten nutzen können.
Instead of merely providing people with camp beds, textile tarpaulins are to be used to create individual living cells. This should offer the residents a space for privacy, but at the same time also promote cultural coexistence. In addition to sleeping facilities, the residents should also be able to use storage space and seating.

Bei der Dimensionierung der einzelnen Zellen wurde von einer allgemeinen Sport- Mehrzweckhalle mit einem genormten Seitenverhältnis von 45m x 27m und einer Feldbettengröße von 190cm x 63 cm ausgegangen. Daraus ergibt sich pro einzelner Wohneinheit eine Seitenlänge von 2,40m, wodurch pro Zelle zwei Feldbetten, eine Sitzmöglichkeit mit Tisch und zwei Stühlen und einen gemeinsamen Schrank mit Stauraumflächen untergebracht werden können.
The dimensioning of the individual cells was based on a general sports multi-purpose hall with a standardized aspect ratio of 45m x 27m and a field bed size of 190cm x 63 cm. This results in a side length of 2.40m per individual accommodation unit, which means that two camp beds, a seating area with a table and two chairs and a common cupboard with storage space can be accommodated per cell.

Das Projekt wurde durch den Rat für Formgebung ausgewählt um mit 15 weiteren studentischen Projekten an einer gemeinsamen Ausstellung zum Thema Desaster (Relief) Design an der Kyushu Universität in Fukuoka, Japan teilzunehmen.
The project was selected by the German Design Council to participate with 15 other student projects in a joint exhibition on Disaster (Relief) Design at Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan.
